Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors are peer elected volunteers and usually serve on the Board for five to eight years, with at least one year as president. The Board meets once a month to plan all events and activities and discuss financial and administration matters.

The Association employs a part-time Executive Officer to manage all business activity and events.

Paul Moore (ACSE President)

Paul is the Director & Buildings Leader NSW at Stantec, with over 25 years’ experience across a wide range of building and infrastructure projects. Paul interacts proactively with all levels of the design team and contractors to provide a practical, coordinated design solution, which is cost effective, safe and readily buildable.
Paul adds value to the design and delivery of a project by applying a combination of technical knowledge, construction experience and commercial awareness to achieve desired outcomes.

Martin Folan (ACSE Vice President)

Martin is an Associate Director at Taylor Thomson Whitting (TTW).He is a dedicated engineer and leader with a strong technical background. His career development from an early stage required a firm grasp of engineering first principles to develop performance based seismic retrofit solutions in the Middle East. Bringing a wealth of design experience, Martin contributes his first-principles expertise to problem-solving in Australia across a range of sectors. He has successfully led many complex projects with a personal and collaborative approach and currently leads the Construction Engineering division at TTW.

Steven is a Principal of ACOR Consultants in the Western Sydney Office, and has more than 20 years’ experience, locally and internationally, with a wide range of experience in retail, commercial and industrial projects. Steven’s cross discipline knowledge has been a key component to the successful delivery of these projects.

Andrew Derbidge

BE FIEAust CPEng NER(Structural)

Andrew has worked as a consulting structural engineer in Sydney for over 25 years. A Director of Partridge since 2007, he works mainly across the Residential & Commercial sectors, and has a strong interest and focus on the design of high-end, architecturally-designed houses and reinforced concrete. Andrew’s work has been recognised with numerous projects receiving engineering awards from both the ACSE and the Concrete Institute of Australia.

Edmond Choi

Edmond is currently an Associate Technical Director in Arcadis’ Buildings + Precincts (NSW) business. He has over 20 years of experience across a wide range of building sectors and been involved in the delivery of iconic local and international projects. Edmond designed many landmark mixed-use developments, retail centres and residential developments as a structural engineer. Edmond had also managed the structural design of many large-scale infrastructure projects including Sydney Metro Cut & Cover Stations and Melbourne Metro Townhall Station, with over station development (OSD). Edmond has delivered clients with extraordinary engineering solutions while meeting project requirements and understanding client needs.

Aaron Hughes

Northrop Consulting Engineers

Aaron is a Structural Engineer & Principal at Northrop focused on complex builds and Industrial Projects while leading a Sydney Structural Section in Sydney. His project experience includes leading the design on large highbay industrial projects as well as unique projects such as the Chau Chak Wing Museum at Sydney University which went on to win the Overall Excellence award at the international ACI awards.

Aaron has formerly chaired the Consult Australia FutureNet Committee, and served on the AS4100 Steel Code Committee for Standards Australia. Aaron has a passion for promoting the Structural Consulting Engineering profession in Sydney and beyond – as well as positively shaping the Sydney & national construction industry into the future.

Michael Jaroszewicz

Michael is a Chartered Structural / Civil Engineer with more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry working on major building projects in United Kingdom, Middle East and in Australia since 1986.
As the founder of MAJCON he brings more than 30 years of experience as a business owner in a private consultancy practice.
In 2007 Michael was invited to become a Director of the Association of Consulting Structural Engineers NSW and in 2011 was elected President. He has attained Fellow status of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Engineers Australia. In 2020 he was invited to the Structural College Board of Engineers Australia.

Andrey Kandic

Andrey is a Chartered Structural/Civil Engineer with more than 23 years experience in design and construction.

He has designed and supervised alterations and addition in domestic construction as well as major infrastructure works in Australia and overseas.

He started consulting for himself in 1999 and is passionate about the profession and the standing of engineers within the community.

Andrey has also been a member of the Army Reserve since 1996 and is in the Engineering Corps.

Max Kraus

Max is a Technical Director with Mott MacDonald and has 30 years’ industry experience gained in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Throughout his career, Max has been involved in numerous large residential and notable commercial projects and most recently in the last 10 to 15 years he has developed a track record for successful delivery of the structural designs of integrated transport hubs, such as airports and metro rail stations in Sydney. Max is a key leader in Mott MacDonald’s Australian structures practice and is a chartered engineer.

Joyce is currently the discipline manager of the Structures team in Arcadis’ Buildings NSW business. She has over twelve years of experience in the different aspects of structural engineering for both local and international projects. Joyce has been involved across various stages of a project, from master-planning to concept design, through to detailed design and construction handover. Joyce’s extensive design capabilities have culminated from her experience and involvement in a variety of large scale and high profile projects. Her technical excellence combined with project management skills to lead and motivate teams, have contributed to the successful delivery of projects to clients.

Paul Siewert

SCP Consulting Pty Ltd

Paul is a Principal Structural Engineer and Company Director with wide ranging experience in private and government projects and has over 30 years of local and international consulting engineering experience in all forms of construction and procurement methodology used in the Australian market. In 2018, Paul became a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia.

Paul has designed many local and international projects including sporting facilities, large scale defence, retail centres, commercial buildings, health and education facilities, warehousing, and residential structures and complex specialist structures. Paul also has extensive experience in Heritage and Adaptive Re-use of existing buildings. Interest includes Embodied carbon reduction and value engineering of structures and policy and best practices within the Engineering Profession.
