ACSE Memberships

ACSE has a long and proud history of service to its members and the profession, and since its inception in 1933, ACSE has contributed to many of the positive changes that have occurred within the industry. ACSE provides its members with opportunities for interaction with industry leaders and each other as well as promoting the profession of structural engineering to the public and as a career. Currently, we provide the following for our members:

Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars and a half day Annual seminar to enhance educational and professional development. ACSE prepares practice notes for its members and members can download copies of all practice note and papers from all our past annual seminars from the member’s area of the website. Networking within the profession

Opportunities for interaction with industry leaders and for networking through regular breakfast meetings, CPD seminars, social events and the member’s area of the website. Read more about Networking here.


Our University Lecturing Program helps to promote structural engineering as a career path to engineering students, and the annual University Student Scholarship encourages excellence in structural design among final year engineering students.

Our High School Program helps to promote structural engineering as a career to high school students.

Annual Awards

The ACSE Structural Engineering Excellence Awards is an annual event to promote structural engineering.


From time to time, ACSE funds a research project of direct relevance to its members.


We support members who serve on Standards Australia Committees in order to contribute to the safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of engineering in Australia. Read more about Standards here.

Government Legislation

We make representations to government bodies and local Councils on matters of concern to members, as they arise.


We send regular e-newsletters providing members with comprehensive information on industry issues and technical matters.

Interaction with Other organisations

The ACSE has forged links with other like-minded organisations including the Structural College of Engineers Australia and the Australian branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers
